February 9, 2012: TransGlobal Energy® would like to congratulate Southern Company on the announcement of the approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to build two new 1,100-megawatt AP1000 units at Plant Vogtle near Waynesboro Georgia, USA.  Plant Vogtle will be the first Nuclear Power Plant built in the United States in over 30 years.  The project will help stimulate Georgia’s economy by bringing thousands of jobs to the State and provide substantial benefits to the citizens of the state of Georgia.</p>

<p>Wells gained his initial power generation experience after graduation from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point NY and serving as a licensed 3rd and 2nd engineering officer. Mr. Wells’ experience includes management, engineering, design, procurement, construction and commissioning and O&amp;M capacities on gas, oil and coal fired, simple cycle, combined cycle, nuclear, Waste-to-Energy and cogeneration projects. Mr Wells was also responsible for the Site Management of one of the world largest RO desalinization project to date. During his career he has held positions as, Project Engineering Manager, Consortium Commissioning Manager, Director of Startup and Warranty, Site Manager, Owners Representative, O&amp;M Director. Mr. Wells equipment experience includes MHI 501, Siemens V84.2, ABB GT10 and GT26; GE Frame 6, 7EA, 7FA and 9EA gas turbines in 2&#215;1, 1&#215;1 and 1&#215;1 single shafts configurations; GE LM units, GE, Allis Chalmers, Siemens, Hitachi and Westinghouse steam turbines; wood, PC, stoker and FBC Boilers/HRSGs; GE Mark V and Mark VI, ABB/Bailey, Foxboro, Westinghouse TXP and Ovation Distributed Control systems along with NEM, ATS, Rentech, B&amp;W, Foster Wheeler, ABB/CE, Deltak, B&amp;W-Hitachi, Pyropower Boilers/HRSG’s.</p>
<p>“We are extremely pleased to have someone of Wells’ capabilities on board with us. His responsibilities will be to develop and manage the TGE capabilities in providing Owner Representative &amp; Engineering services, operations and maintenance and commissioning services, e.g, early commissioning/O&amp;M procedure and detailed commissioning schedule development, training, commissioning, O&amp;M and contract testing consultation, construction and commissioning monitoring (Owner’s Representative), FMEA spare parts stocking, etc. as well as expanding our capabilities in overhaul and maintenance services of power generation facilities” said Kevin C. Morris, President and CEO. “Mr. Wells’ recent worldwide experience with firms such as Intergen, GE Energy, GE Water, ICA Fluor Daniel, Bechtel, Shaw/Stone &amp; Webster, AES, Transalta, Sempra, Iberdrola, EGAT and NYPA in the US, UK, Turkey, China, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Algeria offer us a unique perspective on servicing the domestic and international power and hydrocarbon sector.”</p>
